Cost of paupers’ funerals in Coventry

Coventry City Council were the 10th highest local authority in terms of the amount spent on public health funerals in 2015/16, spending £56,858.99, on a total of 46 pauper funerals. The number of paupers’ funerals has increased dramatically in just five years, with Coventry one of the busiest councils in the country. Otherwise known as a public health funeral, these are held by local authorities when someone has died - and they either have no family, or the family are unable to cover the cost of a funeral. Read more.
