Coventry’s housing crisis

The Coventry Telegraph reports “Since 2010 the city's population has increased by 48,475...New figures released show a total an extra 1,095 houses and flats were made available in the city in 2017/18.

The data includes both new build homes, and those created by converting existing buildings for residential use. The number of new homes actually fell from 1,129 in 2016/17. It means that since 2010/11, a total of 8,478 extra houses and flats have been created in Coventry.

At the same time, the population has risen from 311,674 in mid-2010 to 360,149 in mid-2017 - the latest figure available. That represents an increase of 48,475.”  Read more
