The Rules of Intestacy

When someone dies without a valid will there are rules in place as to how their assets (otherwise known as the estate) are dealt with. These are called the rules of intestacy and are extremely complex. The Citizen Advice Bureau has provided a detailed description of how the rules work along with a number of case studies.
