Pensions Loss for those working in the Gig Economy

Gig workers lose £182m in pensions according to figures from Now: Pensions. They based the calculation on the autoenrollment figure of 3% which becomes the minimum companies pay into their employer pensions by April 2019. Currently there are 1.3 million workers which the CIPD claim are excluded from the auto enrolment programme.

However, three out of five have a traditional job too, so may pay into a pension in their "day" job.
