Inheritance Tax threat to over 60s
Published: 4 July 2019
The Telegraph reports “More than a million people over the age of 60 are on the cusp of falling into the inheritance tax (IHT) net and most have no idea they can avoid it, according to a report published by HM Revenue & Customs last week.
It found over-60s were particularly at risk of the death tax, with 9pc sitting on wealth at or just over the tax-free threshold – triple that of the general population. NFU Mutual, the insurer, estimated around 1.4million people could be affected.”
